FURG Opens Internal Call for Selection of Candidate Group for Embrapii–MCTI Public Call

The Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation (Embrapii), in partnership with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI), has launched a public call to accredit four new Embrapii Units, aiming to strengthen Brazil’s national innovation network that connects industry with leading research centers.
 
Selected institutions will be eligible to secure funding for prospecting and executing Research, Development, and Innovation (R&D&I) projects in collaboration with industrial companies.
 
In alignment with this initiative, the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), through the Office of the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Information Technology (PROITI), has published an Internal Call for the Selection of a Candidate Group to represent FURG in Embrapii’s public call.
 
The objective is to select an established group of FURG researchers who collaboratively carry out R&D&I projects with industrial partners, to apply for accreditation as an Embrapii Unit.
 

Proposal Submission

  • Candidate Group proposals must be submitted by January 18, 2026, to: proiti@furg.br, following the criteria outlined in the internal call.
  • After internal selection, FURG’s representative group must submit its final proposal to Embrapii by April 10, 2026.
  • The final deadline for all interested ICTs (Science and Technology Institutions) to submit proposals directly to Embrapii is January 30, 2026.

To clarify questions about the call, Embrapii will host a free webinar on January 12, 2026, streamed live on its official YouTube channel.
