Pre-registrations are now open for “Inovação na Prática” (Innovation in Practice), the first activity of the newly launched Oceantec Mentoring program. This free, hands-on initiative focuses on experiential learning using Industry 4.0 content employed by startups that have been thriving in the new labor market shaped by the pandemic context.
The activity results from a partnership between the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae) and the accelerator Stars, coordinated by FURG’s Office of the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Technology (PROITI) through its innovation environments: the Science and Technology Park (Oceantec) and the Technology-Based Business Incubator (Innovatio).
During the program, participants will engage in interactive sessions with mentors and entrepreneurs.
Target Audience
The activity is intended for FURG faculty members and entrepreneurs from municipalities where FURG has campuses. There are 26 spots available, equally divided between professors and entrepreneurs.

“We expect strong interest in the program. It’s likely we’ll receive more applications than available spots; however, a new edition will be launched soon. Moreover, this type of highly practical training requires smaller groups to achieve its objectives,” explained Aléssio Almada, Coordinator of Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation at FURG.
Participants will interact with mentors and entrepreneurs from startups within FURG’s Innovation Ecosystem. Upon completion, they will be equipped to begin mentoring other startups and related business formats.
Sessions will be held live online (synchronous) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, from August 10 to September 2, 2026. The program also includes an asynchronous “Bonus” activity—a pre-recorded video module—available to all registered participants.
