Call Open for the International Scientific Entrepreneurship Program "Academia-Industry Training" Brazil-Switzerland

The Office of the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Information Technology, through the OCEANTEC Technological Park, announces the public call for the 8th cycle of the Academia-Industry Training (AIT) program, aimed at researcher-entrepreneurs interested in bringing their research projects to market.

Organized by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) of the Swiss Confederation and the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC) of the Federative Republic of Brazil, in partnership with the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), this call seeks to select scientists from Swiss and Brazilian universities to participate in the international AIT program, which includes training activities in both countries. Participants may compete for innovation grants.

Objective:
To support researchers holding innovative, science-based projects aimed at introducing or improving products, processes, or services in the market—bridging research and development with entrepreneurship. The program also aims to equip participants with relevant competencies to bring the results of their technological research to market, including through international collaborations, thereby generating societal benefit.

Eligibility criteria for Brazilian applicants:

  1. Be a native or naturalized Brazilian citizen, or a foreigner holding permanent residency in Brazil.
  2. Hold a Master’s or PhD degree in any field of scientific knowledge.
  3. Be affiliated with a Brazilian higher education or research institution.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in English (an official certificate is not mandatory, but language skills will be assessed during the evaluation and selection phase). Both training phases—in Brazil and Switzerland—will be conducted entirely in English.
  5. Seek to transform their research into innovative products or services for the market.
