Vice-Rectorates Launch Internal Call Aligned with Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Public Notice

Initiative aims to build a network of Scientific and Technological Research Institutions

On Thursday afternoon, January 15, the Office of the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Information Technology (PROITI), the Office of the Vice-Rector for Research and Graduate Studies (PROPESP), and the Office of the Vice-Rector for Extension and Culture (PROEXC) announced an internal call aligned with the public notice issued by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), through the Brazilian Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (FINEP) under the FINEP 2030 Program, for the formation of a Network of Scientific and Technological Research Institutions (ICTs).

The selection seeks institutional proposals to establish networks focused on the following thematic areas: vehicle safety, environmental protection, energy efficiency, and quality of land motor vehicles and automotive parts. The call is open to research groups, whether or not affiliated with FURG’s Stricto Sensu graduate programs. Interested parties may submit proposals until May 20, with the final results to be announced on June 8.

Objective

This initiative aims to select national-level proposals to encourage, guide, and promote the creation of ICT networks aligned with the aforementioned themes. Proposed activities must address industrial challenges and support the development of advanced manufacturing technologies.

These networks should operate across a spectrum—from optimizing existing production conditions (enhancing product quality, boosting competitiveness, and fostering an innovation culture within companies) to developing new products (ensuring appropriate market positioning and business growth) within the defined thematic lines and areas of action.
