Pre-registrations are now open for “Innovation in Practice”, the first activity of the recently launched Oceantec Mentoring program. This initiative consists of a free, hands-on action (focused on experiential practice) with Industry 4.0 content used by startups that have been consolidating themselves in the new job market shaped by the pandemic context.
The activity is the result of a partnership with the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) and the accelerator Stars, under the coordination of the Office of the Vice President for Innovation and Information Technology (Proiti) at FURG, through its innovation environments: the Science and Technology Park (Oceantec) and the Technology-Based Business Incubator (Innovatio).
During the activity, participants will interact with mentors and entrepreneurs.
Target Audience
The program is intended for FURG faculty members and business owners from municipalities where the university has campuses. Spaces are limited to up to 26 participants, evenly divided between faculty and business representatives. “We expect broad participation in the program. We know there will likely be more interested candidates than available slots; however, a new edition will be launched soon. In addition, this type of activity, with a strong practical approach, requires smaller groups to achieve the proposed objectives,” explained Aléssio Almada, Coordinator of Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation at the institution.
During the activity, participants will engage with mentors and entrepreneurs from startups connected to FURG’s Innovation Ecosystem. With this training, they will be prepared to begin mentoring work for other startups and related business models. Sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., in a synchronous virtual environment, from August 10 to September 2. The program also includes an asynchronous component (with pre-recorded video material) as a Bonus activity, available to all registrants.
Registration
Interested participants must complete a pre-registration form (available here) by August 4. For more information, please contact: oceantec@furg.br or innovatio@furg.br.
