Initiative Aimed at Building a Network of Scientific and Technological Research Institutions

The Office of the Vice President for Innovation and Information Technology (Proiti), the Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies (Propesp), and the Office of the Vice President for Extension and Culture (Proexc) announced on the afternoon of Thursday, the 15th, an internal call aligned with the public call issued by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), through the Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (Finep) – Finep 2030 Program – for the creation of a Network of Scientific and Technological Research Institutions (ICTs).

The selection seeks proposals from institutions aiming to form networks focused on the fields of vehicle safety, environmental protection, energy efficiency, and the quality of land motor vehicles and auto parts. The call includes research groups, whether or not affiliated with FURG’s Stricto Sensu graduate programs. Interested parties may submit proposals until May 20, with final results to be announced on June 8.

Objective

The initiative aims to select proposals at the national level to encourage, guide, and promote the creation of ICT networks aligned with the aforementioned themes. The proposed actions must address industrial challenges and support the development of new advanced manufacturing technologies.

These networks should operate from optimizing existing production conditions (enhancing product quality, boosting competitiveness, and fostering a culture of innovation within companies) to developing new products (ensuring proper market positioning and business growth), in accordance with the defined areas of focus and thematic lines.

Proposal Submission

To submit a proposal, each applicant must register their project in Sisproj; complete the form and attach a draft along with the required documentation as outlined in the call by clicking the “add file” button available here; and update their Lattes résumé on the Lattes platform. Any questions or concerns may be directed to: chamadas_proiti@furg.br

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated according to the following priority order:

  1. 1º - Projects in which the lead coordinator is a permanent FURG staff member, with participation from the greatest number of campuses possible;

  2. 2º - Projects from the Federal Education Network in which FURG is a participant;

  3. 3º - Projects in which FURG participates alongside other public or private ICTs.
